MISSION
Answers4Families.org's mission is to provide information, opportunities for dialogue, education, and support to Nebraskans with special needs and their families; by developing and providing Internet resources; and by encouraging others to do the same. We serve several target groups - which you can conveniently locate within the left hand navigation on this page.
HISTORY
The project began in 1994 with a grant from the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau. This grant served 40 families in the Early Intervention and Katie Beckett programs.
The Answers4Families.org project (formerly the Nebraska Network for Children & Families) was extended in 1996 by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce TIIAP program which created the Partnership IDEAS Network.
Since 1999, the Answers4Families.org project has been funded by the following agencies and departments: the Office of Aging and Disability Services Division in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services; the Foster Care Program in the HHS Division of Protection & Safety; the School Nursing Program in the HHS Division of Family Health, and the Nebraska Department of Education - IDEA Parts B & C.
